It is amazing that one year has turned into five. What a privilege to continue the work with such phenomenal people whom I affectionately call the passionate posse -- the true heart of the VoiceYourself mission.

When I began this journey, I knew unless I personally could see, feel and live some change, it would be a hollow promise to be a part of Woody and Laura’s mission. The notion of “change” is, first and foremost, very personal. It is a process that begins at home, in your heart and will never end. It is hard work and even harder to find the know-how sometimes. But however little each of us does to make a change, that single small act becomes our collective hope. I have seen Woody and Laura lovingly, and without judgment, offer friends a gentle nudge to consider a different way – at least consider it. I have seen Joe stand up for his beliefs, shake up for a cause, but never makes someone else feel bad. I have seen Tom, without missing a step, walk down a city street picking up other people’s garbage to put in a receptacle. Each in their own way, is a leader who makes the world a better place for others. While they ask others to face change, they first challenge their own bodies and minds.

I am now a little healthier, a bit wiser and a great deal more humbled. By acknowledging the hard work of grassroots organizers, activists, scientists, journalists and those of you out there fighting so many battles, we must accept that this is a lifetime mission. From this journey, I will always take with me the treasure trove of lessons learned and wisdom gained that I know I must not squander. Thanks to each of you, for your part in this adventure.
