Voice Yourself’s Stand Out section puts you
in touch with Earth Shapers who make a difference, take a stand
and speak out. Read about them, be inspired by them and perhaps
join them in their work. As important as it is to focus on those
who create positive change, it is equally important to expose World
Rapers whose environmental, social and political policies are harmful
and unjust.
Please nominate your choice for Earth Shapers or World
Rapers below

We are pleased to honor Stephen Nordlinger as our newest Earth Shaper.
VoiceYourself thanks member Randall Luttenberg for his introduction to Steve: "I truly urge you to help spread the word about the work Steve Nordlinger has been doing. I don't know of anyone who has done as much with their own two hands to heal environmental damage as he has. The beauty of his work is its power to inspire people towards direct, positive action in their own backyards."
Steve Nordlinger's dedication to the care of Mama Earth and all her creatures has inspired thousands to follow his lead. By his own admission Steve puts the needs of the environment and wildlife above his own. When not at work, he spends virtually all his free time as a canoe paddling garbage collector picking up marine debris on the waters of Central Florida. The story of how an encounter with a turtle led to an army of volunteers that follows this one-man haz-mat team is compelling. He has led a clean up campaign in the Florida Keys as well as the Amazon River basin. His story exemplifies the power of one person's ability to create a ripple effect for change.

This
is a time of great doubt about our own definition
of American character. Many people are conflicted
about the reasons and rationale for the awfulness
of what has been our fate. We are seen in the
world as a nation of greedy, war mongering enthusiasts.
A flaw we are asked to live with everyday and
for which many of you are working hard to change.
Not surprisingly when we asked this community
for nominations, the names rolled in. Although
many deserving candidates made the short list
it did not take us long to decide to spotlight
Richard N. Perle, former Chairman of the Defense
Policy Board.
